Flutter “doctor found issues”: fix the Android toolchain
Install the missing SDK components in Android Studio, then accept the licenses with flutter doctor --android-licenses.
Run flutter doctor -v to see exactly what's missing. Install Android SDK Command-line Tools (plus Platform, Build-Tools, Platform-Tools) in Android Studio's SDK Manager, then accept licenses with flutter doctor --android-licenses.
Try these fixes in order
Run flutter doctor -v
The verbose output shows Java binary, Android SDK path, and each toolchain check with its exact complaint.
flutter doctor -vInstall SDK components in Android Studio
Flutter requires the SDK Platform, Command-line Tools, Build-Tools, Platform-Tools, and Emulator components.
open -a "Android Studio"Accept the Android licenses
Type y at each prompt. Without accepted licenses, Gradle builds fail even when everything else is installed.
flutter doctor --android-licensesRe-run flutter doctor
Every check should now show a checkmark. If the toolchain is still red, the SDK path is wrong.
flutter doctorInterpret what you see
doctor says Android SDK not found or cmdline-tools missing
What it suggests: Flutter needs the Command-line Tools (which include sdkmanager) to manage and query the Android SDK. Without them the toolchain check fails.
Next check: In Android Studio SDK Manager > SDK Tools, install Android SDK Command-line Tools.
doctor reports licenses not accepted
What it suggests: Even with the SDK present, builds fail until the SDK licenses are accepted.
Next check: Run flutter doctor --android-licenses and accept each license.
Multiple [!] lines under the Android toolchain heading
What it suggests: doctor prints the exact missing pieces; each [!] line names what to install rather than a generic failure.
Next check: Fix the items top to bottom, re-running flutter doctor after each.
Why this happens
- Android SDK Command-line Tools are not installed, so Flutter cannot talk to the SDK.
- The Android SDK licenses were never accepted via flutter doctor --android-licenses.
Still not working?
Do not set ANDROID_HOME to a folder you guessed; point it at the real SDK path Android Studio shows under Settings > SDK Manager. A wrong path produces a second, more confusing failure.
