Compare the cloud workflow’s scheme, Xcode version, repository access, and signing with the local environment.

Try these fixes in order

01

Open the cloud report

Find the first failing step and download the build report; later summary messages often hide the cause.

02

Compare workflow settings

Check scheme, branch, configuration, destination, and selected Xcode version.

03

Check dependencies

Ensure the workflow can fetch private packages and access the committed Package.resolved file when required.

04

Check account resources

Verify app IDs, capabilities, signing permissions, and any declared environment variables used by scripts.

Interpret what you see

The first failure is package checkout

What it suggests: The cloud workflow lacks repository access or a pinned revision.

Next check: Check SCM access and the committed Package.resolved at that commit.

Build fails at signing

What it suggests: The cloud account may lack an App ID, capability, or team permission.

Next check: Compare workflow signing assets and enabled capabilities with local settings.

A script fails only in cloud

What it suggests: The script may rely on local files or environment variables.

Next check: Declare required inputs and secrets through supported workflow configuration and test from a clean checkout.

Why this happens

  • The cloud runner lacks a dependency or secret present locally.
  • The workflow builds a different scheme, toolchain, or signing configuration.

Still not working?

Do not copy private credentials into source code to fix CI. Use the workflow’s supported secret and access configuration.
